The top-seeded Red Storm scored a hard-fought 82-66 win over No. 2 seed Creighton on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, capturing their first Big East Tournament title since 2000.

St. John's won the Big East tournament for the first time in 25 years in just the second season with Rick Pitino as the head coach. Now, Pitino is taking his NCAA-record sixth team to the tournament, and there are high hopes for the Red Storm.
