Aaron Judge delivered another clutch moment with a ninth-inning solo shot, but the New York Yankees (42-26) couldn’t capitalize in extra innings, falling 2-1 to the Boston Red Sox (35-36) on Friday night at Fenway Park.
Judge busted Garrett Crochet's shutout bid with a one-out bomb to left out of Fenway Park, but the Sox catcher picked up their ace in the bottom of the 10th with a game-winning Wall-ball.
The Royals did manage to score before the game ended, as Salvador Perez launched a two-run homer off Mark Leiter Jr. in the ninth after a routine popup fell in the Yankees’ infield. Leiter then gave away another run with a throwing error.
The Yankees watched one more epic home run from Aaron Judge. But Saturday became a rather forgettable outing versus the Dodgers.
