Joy Woods remain on the boards this fall, moving from Broadway's 'The Notebook' – in which she originated the role of Middle Allie — to join Audra McDonald in the highly anticipated revival of 'Gypsy.

Tony winner Danny Burstein will play Herbie to Audra McDonald’s Rose in the upcoming Broadway revival of Gypsy, producers announced today. A veteran of no fewer than 19 Broadway productions, including his Tony Award-winning performance as Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge,

Woods and Tyson are currently featured in “The Notebook” as Middle and Younger Allie, respectively. Woods made her Broadway debut replacing as Catherine Parr in “SIX” and also played Audrey in the Off-Broadway revival of “Little Shop of Horrors.” Tyson was seen as Kizette in the pre-Broadway mounting of “Lempicka” at La Jolla Playhouse.

Tony Award winner Danny Burstein has been announced to co-star in the upcoming Broadway production of “Gypsy.” The previously announced revival, directed by George C. Wolfe, will begin previews on Nov. 21 and open on Dec. 19 at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre. Burstein will play Herbie opposite Audra McDonald as Rose.
