Austin Robert Drummond was arrested Tuesday morning in the woods in Jackson after residents saw him. The 28-year-old is a convicted felon with alleged ties to a violent street gang who was out on bail on an attempted murder charge and dating one victim’s sister, officials have said.

Police say the man facing charges that he killed the parents, grandmother and uncle of an infant found left in a western Tennessee yard last week has been arrested.

A baby abandoned in a stranger’s yard led to the discovery of her four slain family members 40 miles away, kicking off a weeklong manhunt for the accused killer, Tennessee authorities said. The suspect, 28-year-old Austin Drummond, has now been taken into custody, the Jackson Police Department announced the morning of Aug. 5.
