Jarren Duran has spent the majority of his Red Sox career batting in the leadoff spot, but for Saturday’s game against the Yankees, he’s hitting fifth for the first time since 2023.

Left-handed hitting rookie Roman Anthony will start in right field vs. Yankees left-handed starting pitcher Ryan Yarbrough. The Red Sox and Yankees will play the first game of a three-game series at 7:10 p.m. here at Fenway Park. With Duran sitting, Rob Refsnyder will play left field and lead off.

The Boston Red Sox are not quite sellers yet, but they have not solidified themselves as buyers either. Until that changes, they will face some tough decisions.
