OpenAI’s 400 million ChatGPT users experienced “elevated error rates” worldwide on Tuesday as consumers reported thousands of technical issues, according to data from DownDetector.com, a website that tracks online service outages.

According to the outage tracking site DownDetector, there were more than 1,820 users that reported issues as of 11:12 AM EST. Users reported that ChatGPT was unable to complete various tasks. Most users reported issues with ChatGPT. A reported outage map indicated that most outages were reported near New York.

Fire up ChatGPT and submit any request at the prompt. In return, the AI will tell you that there's an error in the message stream or that something seems to have gone wrong. The trouble is the same whether you use the ChatGPT website, the Windows or Mac app, or the iOS or Android app.
