Former sheriff's deputy Patrick Gipson criticizes Gov. Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass for handling of LA riots, blaming delayed National Guard deployment and progressive policies.

Advocates are calling on Governor Newsom to fully decommission shuttered state prisons and prevent them from being repurposed as ICE detention centers, as federal immigration raids are increasing across California.

California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have both opposed deployment of the National Guard and Marines to the city.
