Georgia Power says, between Brunswick and St. Simons Island, more than 10,000 power outages were reported among its customers in Glynn County, alone.

As snow buffets Southeast Georgia and Jacksonville is hit by freezing temperatures, power outages are affecting the customers in Georgia and Florida. More than 28,000 people in Glynn County have been affected,

According to USA Today's Power Outage Tracker, there are a total of 48,997 outages in over 60 counties as of 8:16 a.m., with the most outages being in Glynn County, a coastal region in southeastern Georgia.

According to Glynn County Public Information Officer Lawton Dodd, the curfew is to discourage residents from driving and keep people off the streets. As snow melts throughout the day, it’s expected to refreeze overnight,
