One of the Iowa Hawkeyes‘ offensive targets is off the board. Iowa was reportedly set to host former Northern Illinois wide receiver Cam Thompson for a visit Jan. 9-10, but that’s off the table following Thompson’s commitment to Mississippi State.

Iowa football has one of the most prized quarterbacks in the transfer portal. Mark Gronowski is going to the Big Ten from South Dakota State.

Iowa football’s quarterback room became a lot more competitive on  Tuesday. South Dakota State quarterback Mark Gronowski will transfer to the Hawkeyes. Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports was first to report the news and Gronowski confirmed via a social media post.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have a big quarterback competition set to occur before the 2025 college football season. After bringing in Hank Brown in the NCAA transfer portal, he is expected to compete with Brendan Sullivan and Jackson Stratton for the starting job.
