Junior Tennessee starting pitcher Liam Doyle was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year and First-Team All-SEC for his dominant campaign in the Orange & White earlier this week. On Thursday afternoon, the southpaw was named one of 15 semifinalists for National Pitcher of the Year.
Pitcher Liam Doyle, who is from New Hampshire, is projected to go as high as No. 1 or 2 in MLB Draft. Local coaches who faced him aren't surprised.
