A New York judge erased the conviction of 67-year-old Jeffrey Koonce, the father of Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Malcolm Koonce, and dismissed his indictment more than four decades after a 1981 robbery in a New York City suburb.

Following the discovery of new evidence and constitutional violations, officials are supporting a motion to vacate the conviction of the father of an NFL lineman who served years in prison for a Westchester robbery decades ago.

One of the detectives involved in Koonce's case later went to prison following a federal corruption sting.

Koonce was identified as one of the perpetrators by a single witness, who later testified that he was pressured to make a quick identification.

Jeffrey Koonce, now 67, will ask a New York judge on Friday to vacate his conviction for a 1981 robbery at Vernon Stars Rod and Gun Club.
