SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame football fared quite well in this week’s cover reveal of EA Sports College Football 26. Not only is junior running back Jeremiyah Love front and center, flashing his trademark “heart” hand signal, but Irish coach Marcus Freeman is smiling over Love’s right shoulder.

Pro Football Focus is releasing its Top 10 position groups over the summer, and the Irish running backs and wide receivers both made the list. The running backs ranked No. 2 in a previous release, and in the latest rankings drop PFF ranked the Irish wide receivers as the No. 10 unit in college football.

While one season doesn’t define a program, it was eye-opening and enough to impress On3’s J.D. Pickell. He went on to say that he “doesn’t see a clear governor on Notre Dame” to becoming a powerhouse in college football.

Ryan Day has the luxury of building his 2026 class around one of the most coveted players in the country: five-star receiver Henry, whose father, the late Chris Henry, was a star receiver for West Virginia and the Cincinnati Bengals. Henry Jr. stands 6-6 and has a combination of length and quickness rarely seen from high school receivers.

The Notre Dame wide receivers get a lot of criticism for the fact the Irish pass game has struggled in recent seasons. If Notre Dame is going to become an offense that can fuel a championship run the position will certainly need to improve its playmaking and production, the 2025 unit has a chance to do just that.
