Sydney’s Olympic Stadium has been selected to host the 2027 Rugby World Cup final. The 83,000-seat venue previously hosted the 2003 championship match when the Wallabies lost to England following Jonny Wilkinson's dropped goal deep into extra time.

World Rugby have confirmed the host cities for the 2027 Rugby World Cup with Sydney set to host the global showpiece's four biggest matches.

Almost a quarter of a century after one of the most heartbreaking moments in Australian sport, the Rugby World Cup is returning to the scene of the crime.

Sydney’s Accor Stadium has been confirmed as venue for the 2027 Rugby World Cup final. The 82,000-capacity Homebush venue will also stage both of the tournament’s semi-finals, the playoff for third and two quarter-finals.

The host cities have even confirmed ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia, with Sydney announced as host of the Final. Sydney will host the decider for the second time in history following 2003, when England were victors over the Wallabies in extra-time at Accor Stadium, know previously as Stadium Australia.

The Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 will be contested across seven host cities in Australia, between October 1 and November 13.
