Mahakumbh Nagar (UP): Braving the biting cold, devotees brimming with energy and enthusiasm converged at the Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip at the Mahakumbh on Wednesday. Chants of 'Har Har Mahadev', 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Ganga Maiyya' were heard as the devotees took a dip in the bone-chilling water.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that on Tuesday, the first day of the Amrit Snan, over 3.50 crore devotees and seers took a dip in the Sangam.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, being held from January 13 to February 26 in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, saw its first Amrit Snan occasion of Makar Sankranti on Tuesday. This holy dip is led by sadhus or seers from akharas,
