There have been a lot of changes at Today lately, especially with longtime anchor Hoda Kotb’s departure. While Craig Melvin took over Hoda’s seat as Today co-host, Sheinelle usually helms the show's third hour.

However, concern grew after she was absent from Hoda Kotb’s last show as an anchor and Craig Melvin’s first. Several comments left on the “Today” show’s Instagram page inquired as to where she was. “Where in the world is Sheinelle? Why has she missed out on the great moments with Hoda and Craig,” one fan asked.

NBC Today co-anchor Sheinelle Jones says that she is taking leave from the show as she deals with a family health matter. Jones announced the news on Instagram Wednesday morning, with co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin addressing it at the top of the 8 a.m. hour.
