After two straight disappointing losses to non-playoff teams, the Pittsburgh Penguins will look to regain some momentum against the league's bottom team. And they're going to have to do it without one of their best players.

Many of the Penguins think the spark Nedeljkovic provides on and off the ice might be just what they need to make a postseason push.

With forward Evgeni Malkin sidelined due to an undisclosed injury, the Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the San Jose Sharks, 2-1, at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. on Monday. Earlier in the day, the team placed Malkin on injured reserve.

The Penguins goalie skated to the bench and leaped into the arms of his teammates in celebration after the goal.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (20-24-8) have one more chance to salvage a good feeling from this extended seven-game road trip that seemingly began a lifetime ago with a joyous victory over the Buffalo Sabres and Alex Nedeljkovic’s goalie goal.
