The NHL Department of Player Safety announced Friday that St. Louis Blues center Oskar Sundqvist has been fined $2,000 for diving and embellishment. Sundqvist’s fine follows an embellishment warning that came after a late November contest against the New York Rangers.

St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist was a little lighter in the pocket on Friday. Sundqvist was fined $2,000 by the NHL for embellishment, the league announced. The supplementary discipline is a violation under NHL Rule 64 (diving/embellishment).

The Dallas Stars (30-17-1, in the Central Division) came up with a key win Friday night, taking down the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 at American Airlines Center. Dallas will have a quick turnaround, hitting the road to face the Blues (23-22-4, in the Central Division) on Saturday in St. Louis.

Home ice continues not to provide an advantage for the Blues. They lost to the Dallas Stars 2-0 Saturday night at Enterprise Center to fall to 11-12-1 on their own rink. By losing for the third time in four games overall, the Blues slipped back to 23-23-4 for the season and fell further off the pace in the Western Conference playoff chase.

Mark Stone scored 19 seconds into the game and had an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights snapped a four-game skid with a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
