World number 12 Tommy Paul blitzed Australian Alexei Popyrin 6-3 6-3 6-3 on Sunday to become the first American male player to reach the French Open quarter-finals in 22 years.

Tommy Paul ended a 22-year drought for American men at the French Open, reaching the quarterfinals for the first time since 2003 with a dominant victory over Alexei Popyrin. Paul's win marks his third Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance on different surfaces.
