Here’s WAVE News meteorologist Carson Meredith with your forecast. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Sunday looks a touch hotter than Saturday as the ridge of high pressure intensifies over the Eastern US.

Southern California and Los Angeles can expect a slightly cooler day on Friday, but the region will see cooler weather heading into the weekend.

Today's forecast for Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News and parts of northeastern North Carolina.

It will bring heavy rain to parts of southern Texas and northern portions of Mexico this weekend. Today: Bright, still very warm and less muggy. Highs near 86.
