Law enforcement officers in Dallas, Texas, announced they would not work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to target illegal immigrants. Michael Igo, the interim chief of the Dallas Police Department,

"There's no room for fear in our community," said Interim Chief Michael Igo on his X account, adding that "we're here to serve and protect all Dallas residents"

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott's office responded Thursday to news that his state's second-largest police department was not working with federal immigration enforcement agents, saying local officials should be complying.

Dallas police officers are making sure residents of Dallas Texas know that they are not participating in any Federal requests for ICE raids or arrests despite the Trump administration's recent efforts.
