The City of Albemarle Fire Department, along with members of its Swift Water Rescue Team and Stanley County Rescue, responded quickly. Crews used a power boat and a raft during the operation. Firefighters said no injuries were reported. Officials are reminding drivers not to enter flooded roads.

Torrential downpours led to widespread flash flooding in San Antonio on Friday morning, prompting high-water rescues and grinding the city's morning rush hour to a halt.

On Thursday at 8:37 p.m. an updated flash flood warning was released by the NWS Raleigh NC in effect until 11:45 p.m. The warning is for Alamance, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person and Vance counties.

The NWS Raleigh NC released a flash flood warning at 5:38 p.m. on Thursday in effect until 8:45 p.m. The warning is for Cumberland, Harnett, Johnston and Sampson counties.

A large swath of Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland are part of a flood watch issued by the National Weather Service.

Emergency management officials reported flooding after a line of thunderstorms rolled through Central and South Texas before dawn on Friday.

The First Alert Weather Team will be on a STORM ALERT from 3 to 8 p.m. and a FLOOD ALERT from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Saturday.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, the NWS Raleigh NC released a flash flood warning in effect until 9:30 p.m. The warning is for Davidson, Montgomery, Randolph and Stanly counties.

The worst conditions were expected across the southern Plains and Gulf Coast regions, including Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas.
