Multnomah County was planning on turning Cook Plaza into a permanent day shelter and shelter pod village, but residents and Gresham city councilors pushed back.

It will offer 60 emergency shelter beds, a living room, kitchen, bathroom, family/individual rooms, a classroom, a prayer room and more. The goal is to help get women off the streets and into a home.
