Four current and former deputies from the same sheriff's office in Texas have died by apparent suicide over a six-week period, according to officials.

The deputy's passing marks the fourth suicide in just six weeks among current and former Harris County deputies, raising concerns about the mental health toll on law enforcement officers.

The most recent deputy to have taken her own life was Christina Kohler, 37, who joined the department in 2018. Her body was found on March 13 after she was reported missing two weeks earlier, according to a post on Facebook by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
