The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services confirmed more deaths related to Hurricane Helene, five months after the storm devastated much of Western North Carolina.
In the CSRA, Helene took 31 victims. In Georgia, the death toll was 33 people and in South Carolina, there were 49 people. The initial deaths were from trees falling on homes and vehicles.
