Strong thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall will move across much of the central U.S. on Friday and into the weekend.

Ten states could see flooding continue throughout the rest of this week and perhaps longer even though rain has moved on.

It will take days for major floodwaters to work their way south through the Mississippi. Flooding will persist through April.
