Maureen grew up in Barre, Massachusetts where she and her surviving sister, Carol Mac Corkle, were raised by their parents Joseph and Barbara Britton.

Jane was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Walter A. Britton, Jr., brothers George Jr and Joseph Hathaway (wife Maureen) and sisters Lydia (husband Stephen Gonet) and Agnes.

Three Journeys by Gary Brown is the first of four plays written especially for Maureen Lipman. Maureen and Jasper Britton play a mother and son who've always had a special relationship.
