(ABC 6 News) — At the Minnesota Capitol, a large piece of the state’s budget puzzle has fallen into place. The details of the state’s education finance bill were finally hammered into place on Monday.
The change is expected to save the state around $57 million in the next two years, according to a health and human services budget spreadsheet.
Chipping away at a backlog of work, Minnesota lawmakers began sending Gov. Tim Walz more elements of a tardy budget as well as a measure to remove some immigrants from subsidized health coverage.
Minnesota lawmakers have been busy all throughout Monday inside the Capitol as they try to wrap up the state's budget before Tuesday morning's special session deadline.
