Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz reported Monday the NFL is altering its uniform policy to allow teams to wear their throwback and alternate jerseys more often in the future. The new policy will permit teams to wear such uniforms up to four times throughout a single season.

The NFL is reportedly amending its uniform policy for alternate jerseys, and it's about time the Bears brought back an old favorite.

A recently updated NFL uniform policy may mean increased appearances for the most beautiful throwback uniforms in the National Football League. Of course, I’m talking about the Miami Dolphins’ uniforms featuring a retro logo and letter/number scheme that hearkens back to the franchise’s debut jerseys from their inaugural season in 1966.

The NFL on Monday expanded the number of times that teams can wear alternate or throwback uniforms in a given season. The prior limit was three; the new maximum is four. Last year, the NFL increased the number of different helmets a team can wear in the same season to three.

Of course, with this news, there's likely one thing on the mind of the 12th Man: more opportunities to see the royal blue throwbacks in action! The NFL is updating its uniform policy to allow teams to wear throwback or alternate uniforms up to four times per season.
