However, a video does show off the large button on the back of the new Joy-Cons on the official Nintendo Switch 2 website. Originally discovered and shared on r/NintendoSwitch2, the looping clip reveals that pressing this button down is what disengages either Joy-Con from the handheld.

The animation confirms that in order to unlock the Joy-Cons and remove them from the system, players will have to press a button that is tucked under the trigger. This button appears to disable the magnetic charge that reportedly attaches the controller to the system, allowing it to be removed.

Perhaps more importantly, the video shows the Joy-Con clicking onto a separate piece before going into mouse mode. This other piece looks like it has some small pads on the bottom, like a computer mouse would, to make it a little easier to slide around.
