Stefon Diggs won’t just be playing for a new team in the 2025 NFL season, he’ll have a new jersey number as well. The veteran wide receiver, who signed a three-year contract worth up to $69 million with the New England Patriots in free agency last month, will wear No. 8 in the fall.

The Patriots revealed on Tuesday that Diggs will be wearing the No. 8 jersey after signing a three-year, $69 million deal with the team: Diggs wore No. 14 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills. During his lone season with the Houston Texans in 2024, he wore No. 1, which was his college number at Maryland.

Stefon Diggs was widely regarded as one of the top free agent wide receivers available this offseason. Coming off of a torn ACL during his lone season with the Houston Texans, Diggs was still productive in his short stint.
