Home lizards, including geckos and anoles, presented no major toxicity threat to humans and help control insect populations.
Unlike venomous snakes, Mexican beaded lizards don't have fangs. Instead, they have a few grooved teeth that deliver their venom. These teeth are on the lower jaw, near the venom glands.
They also eat invasive species, such as green iguanas. A diet study by Frank Mizzotti at UF found that the lizards even ingest poisonous invasive cane toads, with seemingly no ill effects.
