The upcoming series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy got a teaser trailer today at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 that not only offers our first real look at what to expect from the show, but also some references to the Trek of yesteryear — including a major Deep Space Nine reference.

Starfleet Academy," the newest series in the nearly 60-year-old franchise, warped into San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday with an introduction of its full cast and the first trailer for the show, which will debut in early 2026.

So “Starfleet Academy” has a couple of top stars — both Oscar winners, no less — to lend the appropriate gravitas: Hell yeah, Holly Hunter should be someone who leads the next generation into the future as the chancellor of Starfleet Academy — who wouldn’t trust her with her college-age kids in the 32nd Century or now?
