A drone that was equipped with a thermal camera detected the suspect’s heat signature in the backyard of a residence in the 1000 block of Ardmoor Avenue, police said. He was arrested at 12:18 p.m.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) posted a video on Thursday showing a recent incident where deputies used a drone with a thermal imaging camera to track a suspect on the run.

The drone was called upon to find the last 10 students. The drone program got heavy backing from Officer Ty Klapp, Simone said. "He actually fund-raised for the program," Simone said.
