United Airlines executives are trying to reassure their customers it is safe to fly at Newark Liberty International Airport, despite all the recent problems.

Previously, Logan averaged 10 daily nonstop flights to Newark, a United Airlines hub. That number dropped when the airline removed 10 flights that had been scheduled in May, according to Jennifer Mehigan, a spokesperson for Massport, which owns and operates Logan Airport.
The FAA said that the number of arrivals and departures will be capped at 28 each or 56 flights total every hour
According to the New York Post, a blackout on April 28 for air traffic controllers overseeing Newark led to many workers taking trauma leave, exacerbating its staff shortage. In addition, a Newark Airport runway is closed for “rehabilitation work” leaving the airport with only one functioning runway.
