The move comes weeks after Pfizer terminated its partnership with Sangamo Therapeutics for another hemophilia gene therapy.

Pfizer's marstacimab (Hympavzi), an IgG1 monoclonal antibody that helps promote clotting, remains on the market. The drug was approved by the FDA in October 2024 for the treatment of hemophilia A and B in adults and adolescents.

According to multiple media reports on Thursday, Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) has terminated the global development and commercialization of its hemophilia B gene therapy, Beqvez. In April 2024, the FDA approved Beqvez for moderate to severe hemophilia B in adult patients who currently use factor IX prophylaxis therapy or have current or historical life-threatening hemorrhage,

Pfizer said on Thursday it will end global development of its hemophilia gene therapy, Beqvez, citing soft demand from patients and their doctors. Beqvez was approved in the U.S. last year, for the treatment of adults with moderate to severe hemophilia B.
