Both No. 1 BC and No. 8 BU took care of business on Monday, earning their first meeting in the Beanpot title game since 2016.

BC swept BU met recently in a home-and-home weekend series on Jan. 24 and 25. This will be the 23rd time that the Eagles and Terriers meet in the Beanpot final. Its the Terriers that own a 12-10 advantage, but the last time BU beat BC in the final was a 2-1 overtime win in 2007.

The Eagles have their sights set on getting back to the national championship game after coming one win short last season. Led by future NHLers Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault, BC is also trying to advance to the Beanpot final for the first time since losing to Northeastern in 2019.

Boston College and Boston University have not met in the Beanpot Final since 2016. But on Monday night at the Garden, the two Commonwealth Avenue archrivals decided to do something about that.

The No. 1 Boston College Eagles men’s hockey team knocked off the reigning Beanpot champions, the Northeastern Huskies 8-2 in the semifinals on Monday night at TD Garden in Boston. The Eagles entered the matchup on a hot steak and that continued in their first game of the tournament.
