With a hot and humid night making perfect conditions for the long ball, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh won the 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby, defeating Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero in the finals.
Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was crowned 2024 Home Run Derby champion after defeating Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. in the finals. Hernandez slugged 14 homers in the final round, one more than Witt, to become the first Dodgers player to win the Derby title.

The family connection clicked better than anyone could imagine: Raleigh became the first catcher in Home Run Derby history to win the event, outlasting Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero in the finals to become the first Seattle Mariner since Ken Griffey Jr. to win the event.
Raleigh isn't the first player to choose his father as his Home Run Derby pitcher. Bryce Harper won the derby in 2018 with his dad, Ron, pitching to him, while Robinson Cano won in 2011 with his dad, Jose, on the mound. Adley Rutschman, meanwhile, had his dad pitch in the 2023 Home Run Derby.
The Mariners' meme came from a promotion the team started running at T-Mobile Park during the 2024 season, when fans who sent a message to the same email address could hire Raleigh to orchestrate their breakup.
Cal Raleigh won the 2025 Home Run Derby, but it was thanks to him barely hitting a home run further than Brent Rooker in the first round.
