An inmate was recaptured after he walked away from a Sylmar firefighting camp, the second such incident in California in days.
Lenton Vanburen, Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald are three of the five remaining fugitives from a New Orleans jail escape recaptured on Monday. Vanburen was caught in Baton Rouge, and Tate and Donald in Texas.
Louisiana State Police have arrested six more people accused of helping some of the inmates who escaped the Orleans Parish Jail. Diamond White, 21-years-old, is facing charges of principal to aggravated escape and obstruction of justice in connection with helping escaped inmate Antoine Massey. Massey is still on the run.
A former small-town police chief in Arkansas escaped from prison Sunday while serving decades-long prison sentences for murder and rape and is still on the loose, officials said.
One of the four inmates who escaped a minimum security facility in central Ohio last week has been arrested. Online jail records in Franklin County show that Jeremy Bowen, 30, was arrested on Saturday.
