LeBron James has piqued the Golden State Warriors' interest before. That's one of the main takeaways from a new ESPN story by Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelbourne. They write that the Warriors considered making a trade offer for James in 2023-24.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN, LeBron James feels that the Los Angeles Lakers “are more in a futuristic mindset.” James, 40, wants to compete for a championship next season, but the Lakers haven’t made any title-making moves this offseason.
ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst said there is meaning behind James’ recent actions, including a trip home to Ohio, while trade rumors swirl during a passive-aggressive spat with the Lakers despite exercising the $53 million option on his contract with the team for next season.
"Free agent center Brook Lopez, who league sources said had strongly considered the Lakers and the potential starting role, grew wary of the uncertainty around James' future with the team and opted to sign with the rival LA Clippers, where he will be a backup," ESPN writes.
On the first attempt, Bronny ended up fouling Flagg, so the Mavericks had the ball to inbound on the sideline. The ESPN cameras zoomed in on the Lakers' second-year guard and the Dallas No. 1 overall pick having a quick conversation.
Berry said that the investor list now includes Marlins co-owner Roger Ehrenberg, Devils co-owner David Blitzer, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, Jaguars owner Tony Khan, as well as current and former NFL stars George Kittle. Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Ja’Marr Chase, Austin Ekeler, Brent Celek, and Larry Fitzgerald Jr., among others.
