About 2:15 a.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to help a person injured at a gas station in the 1600 block of East Washington Street. A woman, dispatch said, was beaten by multiple people and had walked to the store, according to early reports.

INDIANAPOLIS — Multiple investigations are underway after a shooting involving IMPD on Indianapolis' near east side early Tuesday. IMPD Chief Chris Bailey said around 6:15 a.m. Feb. 25, a suspect shot by an officer was pronounced dead at a local hospital. No officers were injured.
