US special envoy Steve Witkoff has told CNN that a ceasefire-hostage deal for Gaza is currently on the table with a pathway to end the war, and urged Hamas to accept it.

The Palestinian group Hamas announced Wednesday that it reached an agreement with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff on a general framework for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Steve Witkoff, President Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, says Israel is open to a temporary ceasefire deal with Hamas. There has been some movement on the hostage release terms of the potential deal.
