For the first time since 1977, Cornell lacrosse has won the NCAA Tournament championship. The No. 1 Big Red, who have lost in three championship game appearances since their last title, defeated No. 2 Maryland 13-10 on Monday to once again establish itself as the best team in college lacrosse.

Cornell has ended its 48-year wait for an NCAA men's lacrosse national title with a defeat of Maryland in the national championship game.

The Big Red outlasted Maryland, 13-10, in the Division 1 championship game Monday afternoon at Gillette Stadium, cementing the program’s first national title since 1977 and fourth all time.
