The privacy-minded Signal messaging service is putting a blindfold on the prying eyes of the newly returned Windows Recall, an AI-powered feature from Microsoft that takes a screenshot of whatever you're doing on your computer every few seconds to give your PC the "photographic memory" you never asked for.

Signal now blocks Windows Recall from taking snapshots when the new "Screen security" setting is enabled. Signal enables that feature by default following a recent app update. You can download the latest version of the messaging app through Signal's website.

Signal said the privacy feature is on by default for every Windows 11 user to block Microsoft from taking screenshots for Windows Recall.
