Hopkins' second goal of the game snapped a tie with 11:01 left as the Connor McDavid-less Edmonton Oilers overcame a barrage of Buffalo shots in the final two periods to beat the Sabres, 3-2, Saturday at Rogers Place.

Clifton notched an assist, four hits and two PIM in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes. Clifton ended a 10-game point drought when he set up the first goal of Ryan McLeod's hat trick just 43 seconds into the contest.

The Buffalo Sabres found good energy for the third period in Vancouver, and managed to come from behind to beat the Canucks, 3-2. Paul Hamilton shares his postgame thoughts:

Practicing Thursday at KeyBank Center, the Buffalo Sabres once again focused on late-game, 6-on-5 situations. In Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Carolina, Buffalo yielded a 6-on-5 goal to Martin Necas before Ryan McLeod’s awarded, empty-net goal secured the victory.

The Sabres haven’t found the right partner for Power since he was drafted first overall in 2021 and arrived in the NHL in March 2022.

Samuelsson missed Buffalo's previous two games due to the illness. He has two goals, five points, 43 hits and 34 blocks in 26 appearances in 2024-25. Samuelsson is projected to skate on the third pairing alongside Connor Clifton in his return.

The Buffalo Sabres fell 5-2 to the Calgary Flames on Thursday at Scotiabank Saddledome. Buffalo took a 2-1 lead with an early second-period surge, but the Flames fought back and successfully defended a one-goal lead for much of the final frame. They eventually secured the victory with two empty-net goals.

Givaudan will not rebuild its facility in Clifton following the food coloring plant's explosion in November, according to an announcement from the company shared by city officials Tuesday. Instead, the company is "considering different options for a future facility," both in Kentucky "and in neighboring states."
