Jacob Durham is originally from Salisbury, North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he graduated in 2019 with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in mathematics.

The incident happened near the corner of Ryan and Seventh streets during the Krewe of Krewe parade.
