(KATU) — Crews removed two out of eight sculptures in Old Town on Wednesday morning that have been called culturally offensive to the Chinese community. The statues were designed in 2006.

Howard Wong's was a popular Chinese restaurant in Bloomington, Minnesota, that featured a fire-breathing dragon statue. Today, that statue lives on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus.
