Another road game, another blowout loss for the Dallas Stars. Dallas’ road struggles this postseason continued Sunday in Edmonton as the Oilers ran away with a 6-1 win to take a series lead.

In the world of heavy knee and shin pads, a slash normally doesn’t do enough damage to derail an NHL player; but the slash delivered by Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse in the third period to the lower left leg of Stars center Roope Hintz appeared to do the job of a mob hit. “We didn’t like it,” Stars center Jamie Benn said.

The Western Conference Finals are shifting up north to Edmonton for Game 3, as the Oilers and Stars have split the first two games.

The Dallas Stars aren’t getting shut out on the power play in the Western Conference final against Edmonton this time.

Stuart Skinner and the Edmonton Oilers shut out the Dallas Stars 3-0 in Game 2 to earn a split in the first two games of the NHL Western Conference finals. For Skinner, the shutout was his third in five games since he was reinserted into the lineup following an injury to Calvin Pickard.

The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars play Game 2 of the Western Conference Final in the Stanley Cup Playoffs Friday at American Airlines Center.
