Mattoon will hold its Fourth of July parade at 9 a.m. Friday and then partner with Charleston for fireworks at dusk at the Coles County Memorial Airport.

Harding University, Hendrix College and Ouachita Baptist University all increased tuition for 2025-26, while Lyon College opted to keep tuition steady for a second consecutive year.
