The City of East Lansing has been trying to manage a projected $3.1 million deficit for the next fiscal year, and is set to vote on its proposed budget at Tuesday night's meeting.

In his weekly update to parents, Lansing Superintendent Ben Shuldiner promised a "comprehensive plan" to make city schools feel safer.
