For the second time in recent weeks, New Mexico has been hit by devastating flash floods as a result of heavy rainfall. In a matter of hours, almost an inch of rain poured down, transforming city streets into waterways and heightening the urgency for emergency interventions.

Storms prompted flash flood warnings across the New York City metropolitan area Monday night, with photos showing severe flooding across the city and in parts of New York state and New Jersey.
